More about ESP prices

My dealer is offering the ExtraCare Ford ESP plan to me, 5 years/100000 miles, on a new F350 PDS 4x4, with a $50 deductable for $2500. I've heard this plan is fairly competitivly priced and discounted at several other dealers around the country and Canada and wonder if anyone knows a dealer who can offer me a significantly better price?

$2500 is really a good price, but that's not to say you might not do a little better by shopping around. $500 better? No- by "a little better," I mean maybe $50-$100. A bit of advice: for approx. $500 more you could get PremiumCare. That's virtually bumper-to-bumper, and does cover a lot more parts. If you're getting a base XL, you may not need it. But if you're getting a Lariat, loaded XLT, or the 6-disc CD plus other goodies, it's definitely worth a look.

I recieved a quote for my 2003 F350 PDS 4x4 with duel wheels of $1500.00 for 6year and 64,000miles after the manuf. warranty is done. This is with the Guardian-Warranty Corp. Has anyone had any experience with this company?
Also, when I called the Ford ESP 800 number, I was told that I had to go through a dealer for a F350 because they were not permitted to deal directly with F350 owners. Boy, was that strange. Has anyone else had that happen to them?

Only a Ford dealer can sell you a new Ford, and we're the only ones that sell the extended warranty. I've never heard of Guardian, but be EXTREMELY careful of any company selling a warranty. Just go to our General Conversation forum and look up "WarrantyGold." Everyone was telling us how great they were a year ago; the company's now bankrupt and the warranty contract isn't worth the paper it's printed on. My advice has always been, and will continue to be: if it's not backed by the factory that built your truck, keep your money in the bank.
