check engine light came on 3 weeks ago. i took the truck to mechanic friend of mine who has the computer diag. sensor thingy.
codes that came up:P0133; P1131; P1000...
i have done the following: changed all the plugs, fuel filter, and 2 front O2 sensors. (upstream)
the problem persists. at low to mid rpm's, the engine runs like its at half power (sputters a little like its miss-firing or something.)
poor acceleration from stop, sometimes shaking from the engine/front of the truck. (mild).
at higher rpms, seems to run smoother until i floor it a little (passing or accellerating on freeway) then mild sputtering again. ALSO- when the sputtering occurs, i can hear mild clicking from the radio when on AM....
I'M GETTING BAFFELED!!!!
anyone have suggestions on what else might be going on?????
thanks for any help...
Hi and welcome to the forum
I would first try cleaning the mass-airflow sensor.
Also check for a vacuum leak. PCV hose is a common one.
Are you sure that the P1000 wasn't a P0100?
This would indicate a mass airflow malfunction which could be just because it is dirty.

right, clean the maf sensor and i would reset the computer.
I like to use electical parts cleaner, just spray it on the maf wires and let the dirt drip off, then blow it clean with a little canned air, don't touch the wires with a rag or something.
My 1995 Ford F250 was running fine yesterday morning by hte afternoon it kept bogging out. I gave it a full tune up and it did no good, now the exhaust smells like gas and the truck want start.
sounds like its your mass air flow sensor. its that little metal wire that hangs down in your air filter system. go and buy a cleaning spray from like canadian tire or something. spray the sensor and the throttle body to which the air transfers into. your truck should be running great. this is quite common with ford.
good luck!
