I have a 70 f 100 that have a vibration i think might be the bearings and was just wondering how hard it would be to change the bearings and what it involved. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I would be looking at your U-joints. They are a common cause of vibration. Wheel bearings usually squeal or lock up or casue a grumbling you will feel in the wheel.
If you can wiggle your wheel when it is off the ground it is most likely a wheel bearing. Easy fix.... it would help to know if is a 4x4 or 4x2.
Also check the wheels to see if you lost a weight or have them balanced that it is the most often cause of vibration.
When I had U-joint problems I never noticed till the drive shaft went flying.
I just had the tires balanced. that was my first thought, but it is still there. It is a 2 wheel drive. I was just hoping not to have to replace all the u joints cause i have the 2 peice drive shaft and that is a pain in the butt. Plus the truck sat for 3 years before i got it and put the engine in. so may be ill check it all. Thanks guys.
