alright, i have a 1969 ford F100, with an aluminum grill, i have a small dent on the bottom right hand corner of my grill, and it bugs the hell out of me, is there any place i can get an aftermarket grill, or even the same pattern, i would like to get a billet, but i believe you have to get that made custom, i have looks in several place and all over the internet and it seems the only way to go is custom, thanks
Cut some tubing to fit between the headlights. Braze silver dollars to the tubing, fairly close together on each bar all the way across. You'll have a unique grill and it will probably be cheaper than getting one that's better than what you already have.
well actually this would change the look but i did it w/ my 69, put a 72 front grill on it and everythign lines up good be prepared to do some modifacation though but i love the way it looks now, everyone at the hot rod shows always try to tell me i wrote down the wrong year in my window and i am like uhh yeah whatever thats just a 72 grill man
I suggest you find a steel grill. Aluminum grills in NOS condition are very hard to come by because they were soft and dented easily. Steel grills are a lot easier to find, and can be repaired to perfect looking condition while being chromed by a good chroming company.
I found a great aluminum '67 on Ebay during the summer. You just have to look around and be patient. I haven't found any reproduction '67-69 grilles so far.
bigric- Do you remember what the grill sold for? Just curious. I look for them in boneyards whenever I go. It really makes me wonder what condition the grills were in when I see that someone yanked it. Years ago, I paid $50 for another grill after someone mashed mine.
Mine's a steel grille that was chromed, but the chrome is flaking off badly. I'm not yet sure what I want to do with it; it's completely straight but the finish is bad.
