I took the '02 SC in for warranty work today. Anyone else having any of these problems?
Power Moonroof makes a metallic clang while opening and closing. It soulds like something came loose and is binding them springing free.
Paint in the water channels on the roof is spiderwebbing/cracking.
Weather strip on the drivers side rear half door won't stay on at the bottom.
Drivers side window doesn't always come up right. I've had it pop out of the rubber/plastic track. I also noticed the other day it did not seal very good in the front lower area nearest the dash.
Truck has 17,500 miles on it and has not been abused.
Just curious how common the issues are out there in Ford land.
I've got the "cracking paint" in the rain channels on the top of my '02 S'crew. I doesn't look as if it goes deep, just in the clear coat (I hope). I bought mine used & it's out of warranty, but I have heard of similar "rain channel" problems. Other than that, I've had no problems. Good luck
Evidently, the paint in the water channels on the SuperCrews is a common problem. I have seen quite a few threads on this.
I have seen a couple of threads on the window problems, usually some clear silicon spray in the guide channels will help this problem.
Most of us do not have a moonroof, so that doesn't come up much.
I also haven't seen any problems with the weather stripping.
The dealer should get you fixed up with no problems. Just make them explain what they did to the moonroof and window, that way if for some reason, it happens again after the warranty runs out, you will know how to fix it.

I'll let everyone know what the dealer does. Especially about the paint.
The dealer said they had seen a lot of the weatherstrip problem. I had a similar condition on my 2001 Mustang GT convertible. Probaly doesn't get mentioned much here due to how easy it is to fix. But while it's under warranty...I'll let Ford fix it.
Paint issue: They repainted the water chanels under warranty. The paint was applied very well, but the color doesn't match exactly. Maybe after cleaning and waxing the truck it will blend better. It's not a major factor anyways, with it being on the roof.
Window: Adjusted the track.
Moon Roof: A part had come loose. The replaced the part.
Weather strip: Replaced.
Overall, I'm happy. Glad to have the truck back and turn in the loaner Focus.
