if you do get an increase, it will be a trace amount maybe 1/4 mpg but you should pick up a tad bit of HP and Tork, remember the more of these little thing you do, the more difference it makes. Good Luck DW
True, the muffler alone may give a slight increase to mileage, but when you put your foot into it more often to use that extra power, the net increase will probably be a bit lower.
IMHO, I have a Flowmaster 40 on my bronco. For a trail rig or weekend warrior it would be fun, but the noise is a bit much for day-to-day or long highway cruising, especially because my combo of gears, tires, exhaust length, etc make a crazy resonance at 35-40 mph and again at 55-60 mph. It does quiet up a bit at freeway speeds, though.
yeah im more worried about the sound of the muffler iwas just wondering if i would get anymore gas mileage cause you guys all know how much gas they eat.
Thanks
Well if you are like me, and didn't want to big of a sound but still wanted the performance, you can go with the system I got. I have the Borla catback system designed for our trucks. It has a nice rumble but it isn't obnoxious.
Put Flowmaster on my 94 last Spring, haven't stopped loving that sound, but go Flowmaster got a 2 chamber 40 series, it was $200 for the 3" system, but well worth it!!
Are you talking about the FIPK or the drop in filter? The FIPK cost me 160, but I got a deal on it, I think everywhere else it runs a little over 200, but it also depends if you have Mass Air or Speed density, the Mass Air is 130 without a deal, but the drop in is 40 bucks from autozone, or Kragen. I definitely reccomend getting the FIPK though, I absolutley love the sound, power increase, and slight gas mileage increase, not alot but noticeable.
