how do i tell when.....

my engine was built? on the driver's door frame it says oct 03. is this for the truck? or the engine? or both? thanks. scott.

Look under radiator tank on drivers side. Tag on the computer. It has the engine build date. Sits on top of valve cover.

well, i just went out and looked with the flashlight. the blue tag on the passenger's side valve cover says 2004. the tag on the driver's side says 10-22-03. do i have the new engine? thanks. scott.

The drivers side valve cover near the firewall will have a sticker that tells you the exact day your <i>engine</i> was manufactured. You'll need a flashlight
