Angry problem with new F-150 2004 model

Bought a new 2004 F-150 truck 1 week ago. The engine throttle went out in it this morning. RPMs went down to 0----anybody else have any such problem?

I work at FORD Dealer and have heard no complaints yet. Take it in right away.

I think I've head of lots of problems with this on Ford's diesels, which also are fly-by-wire. On them there is a switch at the pedal that goes out. Hope your case is a rare one.

Shudder from Backend

I have the shudder as well. It only occurs when I accelrate and the Truck is cold or sat for awhile (2-3 hours). I am taking it into the dealer tomorrow for a look. Another guy at work has a Lariet SCrew (mines and FX4 SCrew) and he isaid t was the fluid as well, but also that it was not a cure all. His did, and is still doing, the same thing but not as bad once his fluid was changed. We both have limited slip.

I will keep you all abreast, but I have to admit, I'm not going to be too happy unless it is completely fixed.

I had this problem with my 04 F-150 STX about one month ago. It only had 800 miles, and just died, and would not start back up. At first the dealer thought I had run out of gas, but later they discovered that it was the "throttle position sensor". They put in a new sensor, and according to the report, a new pedal as well. Since then, everything's been great.

this has the beginnings for a Viagra advertisement.

hmmm, maybe there'll be some joint-partnership that offeres an add'l rebate on the new F150 if you are on the "throttle-enhancement pill".

I know, bad joke. But that's about the freakiest "bug" I've heard to date on the new redesign.

Same problem that the fly-by-wire Ford Powerstroke diesels have. Throttle position sensors. When they go out, the truck is dead. They replace them all the time. Some guys carry spares.

If you gently engage the throttle with the engine off and key on, you can hear the device "click".
