Hello all. I have a '00 F250 5.4L LB supercab 4X4 with the 4:10 rearend, 20,000 mi. At about 15,000 I began having a clunk on takeoff, either in the tranny or rearend. A friend of mine has a similar sound in his 1999. He was told by the dealer that it was some sort of overtorque, that Ford knows about it, but they haven't decided a need to fix it or put out a TSB. Is anyone else having this problem, and what have you heard? I've tried gently easing into the takeoff, but it still does it. Thanks. KW
I had the same problem on my 01 f250 c.c. v10 4x4 every time i would take off or stop real fast i would have some clunk or a delay. It's almost like the trans slips a little but it doesn't. I have posted a few months ago the same clunk under the same conditions tried everything! that was until i lifted the truck replacing the stock leafs springs cured this problem for sure! When i had the stock ones out they had an obvious (s) shape to them when i layed them on thier sides, way to much axle wrap. 2001 c.c. v10 4x4 6" skyjacker 4.30 posi on 36" superswampers

this sounds like the same problem i am having. i have the same truck and this has occurred since the day i bought it. the only difference is that when i start from a dead stop there is a clunk from the front and then from the rear as the weight shifts. if i start really slow it does'nt do the clunk feel. the dealer tried to tell me that it's the disc brakes releaseing. it also feels like the suspension is shifting. any in put would be appreciated.
