first mileage report

Picked up my new truck 1/9 in Oregon and drove back to Phoenix.
(2004 F250 6.0 PSD 4x4 Crew Cab short box)
Averaged 18.8 from Portland to Redding CA down I-5 up all those hills keeping it around 70-75mph most of the time.

Dropped to about 16mpg from Sacremento to Phoenix where neither me nor my wife were able to keep it under 90-100mph.
(we were being passed plenty of times BTW)

Can't wait to tow something.
Over 1400 miles and zero problems.

And of course you read the owners manual and the diesel supplement where they talked about breakin.

Now I just started it where you will get lots of opinions on breakin. But I advise reading the owners manual anyway.

I sure did. Read the whole thing during the first part where it said that no additional break-in was necessary but to avoid constant RPM's during the first 500 miles.

Go to this thread, read completely…. and post. Follow, on page 3..MLF250’s format, it is good…and easy!
Important update to instructions on page 6, 17 posts down from the top of page.

ODOMETER reading at time of problem is critical.
In addition, please read more instructions, bottom of first page, posted by Tim L
Tell as many as you can about this thread.
The simpler the writing (posting) of “problem/odometer” reading………….the easier it will be to collate. Do not need many words. I must reduce all the date into a usable format; extra words will take more time to complete.
