CGOLEYE- I got the dealership to sell me the hood insulation and the hardware for the install at wholesale since the vehicle did not come with it it was about 80.00 total. You will need the insulation and the plastic studs that push in to hold the blanket. They are just like the ones that hold the rubber seal in at the front of the hood!! You will need about 18 of them. Hope this helps see if your dealer will buy it for you!!

I was just looking at my owners manual and on page 36 of the 6.0L supplement it gives a stern warning like:
"Tampering with Noise control System" is prohibited
"Among these acts.."
"removal of hood blanket... "
is specifically mentioned as a prohibited act according to Federal Regulations enacted 1-1-1978 !!!!

I just installed my insulation blanket today $80.00 You will need to remove the rubber seal then reinstall it over the blanket. Easy job, ten minutes at the most. Truck build date 12/01/03 No blanket and no glove box light wtf!

Don't feel bad, GM forgot to install the underhood light. Think they saved a quarter per truck, but the insulation is there.

Hi Folks;

My '04 F-250 Lariat has it....guess I got lucky.

No problems to report with my truck yet (5,000+ miles). I absolutely love this truck!
