powersteering sticks

Hey guys
I have been noticing that in the morning when i first start my 77 f150 the steering acts like there is no pump. if you keep trying to turn it all off the suden is breaks loose. you turn it back the other way and the same thing. It doesnt always do this but it happens much more often the colder it is. Any suggestions?
Thanks
David

Check the power steering belt, and check the fluid level in the pump. Also there could be something in the pump lines like dirt or gunk.

I have that problem with my 79 F-150 once in a while . I have found that I need to flush the system in really cold weather it has moisture in it that freezes. You may also have some seals that are hardening and not very pliable until the get warm/hot --try some seal conditoner.

sounds like exactly what happened when I replaced my steering box. The brand new (reman) box acted very much like you describe. Turned in the box for another one and it fixed my problem.
