timing 1977 400 a/t 4x4

timing 1977 400 a/t 4x4

please help ! I have no idea what the timing should be. Somehow I've come up with 12 btdc. but I don't think it's right. Any help would be great.

12 degrees BTDC could be right.

Right on the valve cover smog decal of my 77 400w/Auto Trans is 12 degrees BTDC.

Thanks for the help. I'll look elsewhere for my problem then. May be vacuum leak. I have dead spots on acceleration, I thought timing, guess not. Thanks again
