CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT THIS IS

I HAVE A 69 FORD F-100 IT CAME WITH A 302 ACCORDING TO THE VIN# I STARTED LOOKING AND FOUND SOME CLUES TO MAKE ME BELIEVE THAT THE MOTOR WAS CHANGED. THE VALVE COVER SAYS ITS A 351 HOW DO I TELL????? HELP

Welcome to FTE Randy!! Please don't type in all caps. It makes your posts hard to read. When you reply I will move this post to the Performance and General engine rebuilding forum where everybody can take a stab at it there. I'm pretty sure you don't have an FE. Somebody there will definitely have ananswer for you.

You got a 'lil gem 'tween the fenders of that grand 'ol Ford 
.By my source,you have a 1971-1974 351 Windsor.To be sure,you can take one of the valve covers off.You should see "351" stamped somewhere on the heads.If that engine has the same heads that it came with from the factory,you're good to go there also.I've got the same exact engine that I pulled out of that 1977 F-100 Custom posted in my signature.I started out thinking that it was a 302,but when I ran the casting number,I found out that I was wrong 
.If you would like,I can give you some tips on you heads so you can squeeze out an extra 40-45 horsepower from them.Best to do that when you overhaul though.The heads will have to come off and be disassembled.

Thanks for all your replys. now all I have to do is figure out what to do with it. Its seems to run pretty good now but not a whole lot of get up and go.

Randy, the small block folks should be able to give you some good suggestions on waking that baby up. I cut my teeth on a little 260, first engine I ever rebuilt.
