This forum is great!! I hope I am doing this right, as I am new to this sort of thing.
My '94 B4000 has some of the typical problems I find in this forum. Can someone clue me in to the front hub thing-
auto hubs do not work, can they usually be fixed? I see several locking hubs for sale on Ebay-is there something else needed in order to make these work?
How 'bout the pinging? Even with 94 octane, I still get some noise. Will try some more mystery oil (one of the finest substances known to modern man). Thanks in advance.
I'd suggest replacing the OEM hubs with Warns. I had to do it myself on my 94 Ranger and it's a fairly straight forward mod. There have been several posts on the pinging, and Ford issued a TSB on the issue. I posted the contents about a year ago; do a search an you will find it. To implement it the TSB by doing it yourself will run you abut $30.
