Check engine light
My light came on after work today. At about 40 mph it starts shaking pretty bad. but stops at 2000 rpm . If you turn the overdrive off where it stays reved it didnt shake much. What is wrong?? Also about 45 min after I left the light blinked a couple times and while of it didnt shake
I need help I gotta use this for work it has 106000 miles

The computer wouldnt retrieve any info from the computer. THe guy said there was a short in the wiring or a bad computer. So I got home and looked under the dash and there are some wires that have been cut I dont know if the previous owner had electric brakes or not. What should I try now

Sounds like an automatic... if it is, I had a '94 diesel that the OD off light would flash. I found this out before I bought it and told 'em i wanted it looked at. I can't remember if it shook or vibrated or anything, but it wound up being the torque converter, they replaced that and the light went out and it went fine. My memory fails me, that was 5 years ago or so, i remember it drove funny, or wouldn't go into overdrive or something but I can't remember exactly what.... In any event.. that's what it was in my case.
