giving up driving?
Right now, I'm stuck walking or biking. Even if my truck were registered, it wouldn't be anymore, as I don't make enough. Of course, my bike is getting to the point of needing maintenance. Brake pad, front shock (and you thought struts on the wife's car were expensive- yikes! I'm glad there's only one!), new rear tire, wheel and axle, and the list goes on. Of course, I only paid $125 for a full suspension bike at Wally World. It takes me 10 minutes to get to work, but a half hour to get home. I work in the shipyard, but I live close to the top of a hill. As a friend of mine once put it, I could fall down and roll to work from here! But people have no respect for a biker. I almost got hit three times last night. The first was a woman who stopped, acted like she wanted me to go, but when I went, she took off. The next guy ran a stop light and made a left turn. Then, just as I'm getting to the ferry terminal, another guy ran a light, and pulled out in front of me. He has a nice dent in the side of his car now.

Let's see...20 miles to the nearest town, 150 to the nearest one of any bigger size. Nope, giving up driving ain't gonna happen. :P I'm with truckfreak69. I love driving my trucks, and consider the money I spend doing it well worth it.
