Buying a Supercrew

I'm buying a 2003 Supercrew, 5.4 XLT with 8k for $20k. This shows to be about $5k below retail book. Seems like a really good deal. What do you guys think?

I would take it to a body shop and make sure it wasn't wrecked or water damaged. Also you might want to have all the plugs checked for stripping out.

Wow .. that's really a good deal. Make's me wonder though. Have it checked out by a mechanic ... really good!

Run a Carfax on it as well. If everything checks out mechanically, and the title is ok, great deal.

Good advice guys. The man I'm buying from turns out to be a neighbor of mine ( I didn't recognise the phone no. in the paper) I've known him for about 20 yrs. He has a construction company and one of his estimators has been using the truck as a company vehicle. He said he is selling it simply because he has too many trucks. I talked to the guy who's been driving it and he says it's like brand new( he, coincidentally, is the son of the former pastor from my church). I'll know today if it's all it's cracked up to be, I will probably pick it up this afternoon.
