Guys
I would like to "snazz" up my 1999 F 150 with a set of Rims and Tires off a late model Fx4. My truck has the factory style rims and are 17". What years can I use? I am to understand that ford changes the rim style in 04. But can I use a 03 and down?
Thanks much!
The newer trucks have 14mm studs. I believe the older ones had 12mm studs. I don't know if its considered safe to use the newer wheels on the earlier studs, but I would think they would have designed them so they wouldn't fit to prevent the problem if there was one. Still, if you have the 12mm studs, I would be careful.
I'm not sure if the wheel studs are interchangeable but you can use wheels for 14mm studs on a truck with 12mm studs as they wheels center themselves on the hub and not by using a taper on the nuts like on an older truck.
