I am trying to order a new Ford 250 with my specs and this FDAF assessment of $280.00 appears. Can someone explain this item?

 

Ford Dealer Advertising Fund or something like that. You get to pay for the advertising Ford helps with in your area, or so I understand. I hear you can sometimes get that removed. Depends on your dealer and how much you got them down already. They don't like to tell you what it is. I noticed my dealer skipped right over it and blurbed something as he passed over it like it was some kind of mandatory fee. Why don't they just hide that cost in the cost of the vehicle.? Seems like it would be easier to me.
