Resistance Values

I,m working on a 1992 E-250 with 1993 wiring according to the Diagrams, I am wondering the normal resistance values for the grounds with the key on. With the key off there is no resistance! with the key on I have just over 1-OHM of resistance? Is there a particular way to find the problem that is giving me this resistance? As I said, it is a 1992 E-250 with a 5.8lt engine. Nothing added on, no A/C. Basic Van. Thanks for any help,
David

What two points are you measuring the resistance between?

Same question, where are you measuring the ground resistance?
The key switches the +12V, not the ground, so the key position should not effect the ground resistance. I think you are seeing a very small voltage drop across what you are measuring, that is effecting your meter's OHMs measurement.

Not a tech forum but you can't measure resistance with the key on. An ohmmeter has an internal current source and if there's voltage on what your trying to ohm out it will screw it up.

What you need to measure is the voltage drop across the connection with the key on, any connection should have less than a tenth (.1V) of a volt drop.
