Question elecrtical nightmare

007 had my same problem in his 7-23-01 post, but im new here so I cant e-mail him......But here is what is going on......turn key off heater fan stays on (until I put it in off position).....with key off relays under dash still clicking and buzzing noise from what I guess is my blend door actuator (little white box mounted behind floor heater duct) when I tried to drive it when this first happend the 4x4 light was flashing on and off......then the airbag light started flashing......all of this killed my battery, so I got a new one. I also replaced the clicking relay (still clicks).....changed my ingition switch....still have the problems......air bag light flashes 4 pause then 1 then repeates.......so after messing around for a few days my heater and a/c control assembly does not work at all but little white box still buzz's without key. Anyone got a clue....I someone could e-mail 007 for me to see what he found out that would be great too......thanx for your help.....

Once in awhile people have problems with their ignition switch actuator mechanism. Knock on wood, I have never had mine fail yet. The jist I get is the keyswitch up top, turns a little gear which moves a rack gear(like rack and pinion). The rack gear is hooked or part of the rod that runs down the column to activate your ignition switch you just replaced. As a test, you may want to see if you can manually pull this rod to make everything cut off. If that works, you must have a problem with the gear and rack.

Try doing a search for "actuator", or you might just look down the list here a little. Somebody just completed this job and wrote what he did to fix it.
