Keyless entry

Well I lost my keyless entry remote and was wondering what I need to do to get another one. Can I order one off ebay and reprogram it myself? Thanks in advance.

Yes, My selling dealer took one and programmed it for my truck when I bought it because it only had one.

You can program the key fob by yourself.
Put the key in the ignition and turn it from off to run 8 times in 10 seconds. The door locks will cycle. Then press any button on both key fobs. The locks should cycle again and you're done.

I thought that it was something like that, just didn't have the details in front of me.

Our '01 SuperCrew came with Keyless entry. We had a FORD keyless/security/remote start entry installed. We kept the 2 originals, so we have extras.

(Figured, that I might drop one someday, and crack/break it, and need the case)

Well I bought a new keypad off ebay and tried to program it. It wouldn't work on mine because it for '98 and up vehicles. Being that mine is a '97 model... I was kinda frustrated. It's been so long since I have seen the one that came with my truck that I don't remember if it had the words on the buttons or if it had the little picturs of the lock open and lock closed. Does anyone know which it is? I am thinking it is the keypad that has the words on it.
