Thanks Rob,

I am actually taking the block to a machine shop today just for measurements. Cylinder straitness/roundness as well. Those main bore specs will be exremely helpful.

OK, the good news first. I turns out the cylinders are straight and round. The two worst cylinders were off by a max of .0002 in one dimension or the other.

The bad news. The main bores are sitting at 2.9386. This is .0026 under the minimum provided by Rob. And explains my lack of clearance. Block will be going back to the machine shop and will set my build back by probably 3 weeks.

Scouder, using my college education, I've done some basic physics to come up with the following conclusion.

1000HP + lifted 4x4 truck most likely results in an event called OEI (Operator Equipment Inversion).



Rob, it's nice of you to joig us. You seem like a pretty smart feller, we can always use a few more of those around to help the novices like myself.


Back to my wiring...the weather still sucks down here...but it's 66 degrees. I guess I should not be complaining.

I'm glad that is squared away Brian. Rob has been into FEs real big for a long time. I'm glad he stops by every once in a while and shares some knowledge.

Rob has given me valuable information on more than one occasion, both on the internet and the phone. In fact, I bought my Canton oil pan and my Erson rockers from him.

The main bore specs he provided made it possible for me to nail the machine shop as the culprit.
