Someone once told me that that housing bolts were threaded the opposite way. Is that the bolts holding the housing down or is that the piece inside the housing that holds the filter in place? Im trying to get to the thing that looks like a fuel pump underneath it.

 

On the 99+ trucks the housing mount bolts are standard right hand thread. Dunno about the early models.
