just got it back from the dealer last week they replaced the IAC motor the truck ran silent with a very low rpm and yesterday and today the truck ran fine cold but as soon as the truck warmed up it keeps stalling out when i take foot off the gas peddle. what is causing this
it has a brand new 500.00 carb, fuel filters, new mech fuel pump, IAC motor, 2 new gas tanks and mechanics, and new fuel lines metal and rubber
there is a new sound to the whole engine compartment a very loud squeal at low rpms its coming from the passenger side of the truck but i can't pinpoint it. could it be my air pump. or could it be something eles??? if something is sezing up could it be stalling my engin.
Ck air pump, I had the same thing happen, also ck the idler pulley its bearing can scream when it goes bad also ck alt. belts, as for "stalling "....could be the throttle position sensor.
where would the idler pully be located because i dont see no pulleys without there being a device behind it. the tps is brand new it came with the carb
35l911 Sorry I was thinking of a V8, like mine I've been under my hood too much lately. The alt belt will slip when the rpm's get lower if it is a little loose usually at night when you have more load on it like headlights, heater motor etc.. or it could be air pump.
35|911, 30*F/-2*C to cold? Ha! it was 2*F here thursday night. That's getting cold, but the 25mph wind took it over the top.
If it's a belt squeal, then as you remove belts you should find it when it stops.
Drag from a dead item could cause it to stall, but you also say it was running at a low RPM. Try upping the idle a little. I think it should be like 750 in neutral, 500 - 600 in gear.
If you have a computer in the car you may need to drive it like ten miles.. and start it and warm it up a couple of times... so it can relearn the correct parameters for running correctly ( this is from the shop manual )..
