2002 explorer
I have a 02 eddie bauer explorer and was wondering if any one has any trouble with rear hatch. My wife found her hatch cracked under the rear glass. This peice is fiberglass and the ford dealer is going to fix this but I was wondering if this was common problem.The ford dealer said it cracked due to cold weather, it was 20 degrees. This is Georgia, if I was up north this would happen every day.

Our '02 is in the shop for the same thing right now. The plastic panel under the back glass had cracked in two places. The back glass had to be shut very hard to latch and I think that is what caused ours to crack. The latch was also replaced because of the hard shutting.
The dealer put a new piece on under warranty and was told that they had done this on other Explorers.

My one has also experienced that terrible thing. Today it was replaced. And I have a little problem when I close rear hatch.. It's not closed well, I have to close hard...Do you guys think that I should go to dealer?
