I had an old exhaust pipe from my 93 F150 and took my 3/4 tap and it went in there fine.Oh well,I guess I would listen to the service tech then. But,its still called a thread-o-let.

I would be surprised if it was not 18mm. It is a standard on most vehicles, including Fords. You can take almost any Ford 02 sensor and put it into another car, sometimes the only external difference is the number of wires or the colors. A lot of Ford techs have a spare (known good) sensor left over from warranty and just plug it into a car that might be bad for a quick test.

18mm x .03973 x = 0.70866 inches so 3/4 might look like it fits, it really does not.

You can buy back pressure testers from Summit or JEGS that will fit into this bung. The word bung is/was used when talking about the stoppers used in liquor barrels.

Which brings about the wonderful name of "Bung Hole Liquors" of Peabody MA.

it's true about the liquor store name and the threads are metric
18 x 1.5

TIP: if you need a cheap replacement non heated sensor(1 wire) get one for an early 90's gm vehicle, their under 10 bucks.
