Well, it is here in S. Florida anyway. The fair begins this Friday and I can't wait. So what's your favorite activities when the fair comes to town?
Steve & I don't do the rides much anymore but do like harassing the game vendors. Some of my favorite things are to walk through the chicken & bunny tents and watch the pig races.
This year they're suppose to have lumberjack competitions so we'll probably spend a lot of time there.
Lastly, I'm still trying to find that one food that tastes as good as it smells. All these years of going and still haven't found it - but - I'm not giving up yet.......
Hey I like the fair, When it leaves. NO just kidding, the sights those smells. Where i work, is just across from where our fair sets up. The traffic is a pain, but the sights of people heading in for a good time, and the kids, the lights at night. I dont ride the rides anymore, but my daughter does for both of us. I like shows, the displays and all. Ours is in October for the state fair.
Hey Wiz427
Well its warmer today, we got down to 11degs the other night.
We have rain and about 50degs today. I work in Raleigh now, but used to work in Kinston at Vernon Park Mall, then the Plazza.
I love the county fair. I remember when i was in school we would get tickets to get in free from the school. It start getting cold about the time the fair was due, what memories.
I was living up there about the time they closed the movie theater at Vernon park mall. Every time we wanted to see a movie we had to go to Goldsboro. The fair there is quite different than here it was more country than ours here, I actually miss it.
I have been going to the fair here in WPB for some 35 years now. You would think it would wear out but some how I keep going back. For the last few years I said not this year but somehow I end up going anyway. I remember with it wasn't much more than two chickens and a tent. LOL
