bush preplanned....
Dono
Reasons:
#1 Sadaam may not fund Al Queida, but he did announce that he gives $40K to families of suicide bombers in Israel, and I'm sure that's not all he did.
#2 He was an evil man to all his people.
#3 The only reason he was allowed to be there was because politicians of Europe who traded with him protected him, while ignoring his crimes against humanity.
#4 Like it or not, he was a threat to the Middle East, and therefore a link to possible instability in that region.
Don't get me wrong, I don't have a "good samaritan" complex that the US did it TOTALLY for good reasons, but someone needed to take his *ss out of there and free those people and despite the small protests, the vast majority of Iraqis are very thankful... just ask some of the soldiers that are there. News stories are so biased it makes me sick.
Granted, they have a long way to go, but they have a chance now. So do the people of Afghanistan, as proven by today when the first woman sang on TV in a decade.
Oh, and guerilla attacks are down since Sadaam's capture.
Tough times are ahead, and it will get worse before it gets really good, but like it or not, things are improving.
I love seeing the pics of Iraqi children and adults thanking US soldiers, and yes, that is the vast majority, we haven't become a SUPER unwelcome occupation force yet.
