Tranny Probs

Could dirt or "stuff" getting in tranny at the opening on the bottom where it meets the engine cause shifting problems?

I highly doubt it. What kind of tranmission do you have and in what is it in?

Edit: No, as the transmission is sealed at the converter via the front seal...but just a very small amount of dirt (a teaspoon what an old timer once told me) will kill an automatic transmission.
