efi vs. carb
well i was wondering with how expensive efi hop up parts are, that i could switch over to a carb set up and get more hp out of my 5.8. i see how chips, maf senors, throtle bodies, k&n kits, are so expensive. i think i can put a cam, intake, and carb for less the money and be better off. i know efi is nice for a daily driver, but i dont mind messing with a carb. i had a carberated 350 with no over drive in a chevy and got better gas mileage then my 96' 5.8 with overdrive. i was wondering if anyone out there has though of this swap and if anyone has preformed it. thanks for any input.

I'd stick with EFI, but that's just my personal preference. You already have a mass air truck, so it will be pretty forgiving of engine modifications without having to get a chip. You have an electronic overdrive transmission, which is controlled by the computer, so that will be expensive to get working without the stock engine computer.
