Auto/trany Problem
Automatic Trans Problem
Hello to all !
I just put a c6 auto/trans in my 86 f150 (351w) 2wd truck w/no od , all oil levels are correct.
When I start the truck and warm it up, I put it in drive step on the throttle and it feels like it is rumbling, and it dont seem like it is shifting correctly into 2nd. But! If I slowly accelerate it seems to shift fine with out rumbling. and once i get past 20 - 25mph its smooth sailing. I thought maybe the trans was sitting around in the j/yard that maybe driving it would correct the problem, so i drove on the hwy for about 25mi, at about 65-75mph and still the same thing, when starting off it feels rumbly.
I was wondering if it could be the torque converter, or maybe the u-joints not installed correctly ?.
Any help in this area would be great!
