emergency brake

I'm thinking my emergency brake is sticking. The truck (an automatic) doesn't want to roll very easily. The truck sat for a couple of months while I was working on it.
My question is where is the typical place these stick. I tried doing a search, but it's down to non-FTE members at the moment.

thanks,
Stan

My 88 passenger side locked up on me so I disconnected it. About one week later I jumped in it to go to work and the drivers side was locked up also. Needing the vehicle for work I had no choice but to use my big bolt cutters and cut the line where it goes into backing plate. The brakes were still locked up somewhat so I had to pull the drum and take a screwdriver and pry the brakes a little. Been working ok ever since but if I would have had the time I think I would have taken both sides off, hung them upside down and sprayed them with WD-40. You could also make a funnel out of a piece of plastic and tape it to the line and fill with fluid. Every now and them moving the cable in and out. Sounds like alot of work but if you buy ones from junkyard you should do this anyway. Yours being an automatic you will not miss the e-brake as much as someone with a manual. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply Crazy. I looked at my manual and can see where you adjust the cable. When I get a chance, I'm pulling it into the garage to see if it just got rusted up while it sat. Like you said though, being an auto makes it a bit easier.
