2000 V6 engine failure - twice
My friend has a 2000 F150 V6 (4.2L?) 4x4 automatic with 36K. He's a meticulous sort, and has kept the vehicle well maintained. Last year the engine failed and Ford replaced it under warranty. The replacement engine has just failed, and Ford has agreed to replace the engine again. Both times the dealer mechanics said the crank shaft had become warped in the rear(?). I've searched the FTE site and can't find any similar situations. Anybody have any ideas or advice. I've owned 8 new Ford trucks with no problems. Thanks for any info or advice.

As a frequent, long-time visitor to FTE and the 4.2 forum, I can say I have never heard of this happening. Stop in the 4.2 forum and bring it up. Somebody else might have seen or heard of it.
