steering shaft differences
I need a used steering shaft, but I need to know if there is a difference in a 4x4 compared to a 2wd. I have a 88 f150 4x4, and the steering shaft (from the column to the steering box) is very loose ( 1/8 to 1/4 turn free play). The two half shafts (where they meet in the center) i believe is missing the bushing inside the shaft. ( broken up and fallen out, I heard this is common.)
Is there a big difference between a 2wd and 4wd steering shaft?
I was told there is by a junkyard, but they did not have the 4wd shaft to show me or sell me.
any help would be great
