Yes
i have a 2003 F250 6.0 with a May build date and it works great, did not have any reflash's didn't need any, it works the way I expect a diesel to operate country road driving in the summer I was avg. 19 MPG
Now that its winter the milage has dropped to 16, and that is typical of all the diesels I have owned
They tend to drop off a bit in colder weather.

This truck has slighly more power tham the Dodge Cummins that i previously owned but milage wise about the same.

I also have a Volkswagen TDI diesel, same story 50 miles to the gal. in summer and now I getting about 46 miles to the gal.

I love all my diesels

Started my truck today in -3 temp with no plug-in and she started right up!!
Sounded like I was sitting on a machine gun firing away for 5 minutes or so. Thats what a diesel is all about.

The truck goes to dealer next wednesday for the recall and the Jan flash, plus I want them to check those injectors.

Just a precaution since it is gonna be there. Guess I have those supposed dud injectors that might leak.

Hi jdadamsjr
I saw in your signature where you have 55w backup bulbs and 55w backup lamps. Was wondering if these are aftermarket bolt ons or if there are simply a bulb swap with the factory bulbs? and where can i get these, ive noticed that the backup lights are horrible on mine, and want to replace them. Thanks, John

Emmissions Recall 03EO3.....2003/2004 models

F250/350/450/550 Superduty and Excursion 6.0 PSD with Calif emissions

Vehicle may be equipped with improperly functioning on-board emissions diagnostic system.

Power Control Module (PCM) may not interface with certain generic diagnostic tools used for vehicle repair and diagnosis.

Also reprogramming PCM it will deactivate pilot fuel injection, which only works at warm engine idle.
Deactivating pilot fuel will significantly improve engine idle stability and smoothness. It is supposed to clear white smoke on cold startup.
Truck will not be as quiet as it was.
Ford also says if not done emissions warranty may be reduced and vehicle may not pass state run emissions testing.
hope this helped.
got the recall 5 days ago in the mail

One can easily and reasonably interpret this statement simply as an effort to get you to come in to have the work done. I would suggest you not base your decision to respond to the recall, on that statement alone. I stress this, if you've not had any of the symptoms earlier discussed in length on this forum

Just a thought.......my perception............

Go to this thread, read completely…. and post. Follow, on page 3..MLF250’s format, it is good…and easy!
Important update to instructions on page 6, 17 posts down from the top of page.

ODOMETER reading at time of problem is critical.
In addition, please read more instructions, bottom of first page, posted by Tim L
Tell as many as you can about this thread.
The simpler the writing (posting) of “problem/odometer” reading………….the easier it will be to collate. Do not need many words. I must reduce all the date into a usable format; extra words will take more time to complete.

Thanks
Tim

Why are you posting the same paragraph all over this forum?

Sorry John....
just saw your query to me this am !!!!

talk about snail mail
Got the bulbs from JC Whitney...they helped a bit...
but not like they advertised as "lighting up the night !
Go figer - marketing that wasn't exactly true

the aftermarket fog lights are just that - some cheapies I got from Wally world or somewhere... and mounted them in the holes in the bottom edges of the back bumper...
good luck !
John Too !

Absolutely- I've had my 6.0 PSD CC SRW for two years and one month with 49,300 miles and it runs FANTASTIC!!! As I write this post, it is loaded with my ski gear, equiped with studded snow tires and ready to rocket me up the mountain- Current weather conditions are: Heavy precipitation falling. Needless to say, in just a few minutes, I will be skiing the World Famous Utah Powder in tandem with The 6.0 Grin

Thumbs up

18 months, 20+ thousand miles. I"m happy as a pig in ...

Zero problems, decent mileage and I still have the grin every time I hit the throttle.

Best truck I've ever owned.
