Question Block heater Expedition

I recently bought a 2000 Expedition. It comes from California and i am in South Dakota. Have a block heater that goes in the Freeze Plug hole. Need help with hole location. I think i found it but not sure and if i did how do i remove it. It is above the oil pan on the drivers side near rear of engine. It is counter sunk in block and silver colored. There are no slots for a screw driver or anything. is this the right spot or can someone help me. Really would appreciate the help. It gets below 0 here

Find a freeze plug that is easy to get to first of all. To remove it, first drain the coolant then get a large punch or socket and drive the plug into the block. Once it's in the block you'll have to push it to the side about halfway. Then you can grab ahold of the lip on the plug with a pair of Channellocks and pry it out of the block. Kind of a pain to do but that's the only way I know of to get the old plug out. Install the heater and refill the coolant and check for leaks!!

So the plug i found is over the oil pan on the driver side near rear of block. it is silver in color. that should work. is there any chance of losing the plug when it is punched in the block. What should i use to lubricate the seal on the heater. My instructions say vaseline. will that work fine. Thanks alot
