Dana 50 Unit Bearings
My last daily driver had the traditional Dana 44 style wheel bearing setup, easy to maintain and check. I am starting to hear the tell tell swishing of a dry bearing in the front drivers wheel and am wanting to grease or change it but I am confused now. I understand that in 99 and up D50's and D60's they are a sealed unit bearing, not easy to maintain or access. Before I start tearing stuff up is this so? Can the bearings be greased normally or changed without much hassle or am going to pay big $ for some sealed bearing/rotor/hub thing?
