I own an '03 F150 as well, and I have never noticed a popping noise in 10,000 miles. Can you put it into more detail? How loud is it? Where exactly is it coming from? Personally, I've never heard of the exhaust making a popping noise.

Does it do it all the time while pressing down the gas or only when you let off the gas? If it does it when you let of the gas it's probably just your truck racking (which is normal and easily solved by a new muffler), but if it does it while your pressing down the gas pedal, there is something wrong with your truck. Does your truck have the stock exhaust on it or has it been modified? (like having duals put on or something)

sorry it took so long to reply my dispatcher kept me out for 2 weeks, the noise is temp related with cooling and heating the noise sound like metal expanding and contracting when your exchaust is changing temps it does it when its warming up or cooling down i think its to frequent and noisey.
