need some advice

Ok guys this is what I have
About 4 years a go my wife just had to have this damn
isuzu rodeo. about 3 years a go the timing belt broke
and completely destored the engine. When I took it in
for repairs I found out there was a recall on the timing belt
so they replaced the engine for free. Well here I am again
she left for work yesterday and only got 30yds from the driveway when it broke again. We called the dealer today
told them what happend and gave them the VIN#. After
a few hours they called back and told me that they need to
look at the truck befor the can give me an answer on if the
recall is still in effect since the engine was already replaced once.
Does that sound odd to anyone. Do you think they just want
to get it in and hope I'll just tell them to fix it after it's there.
This is not the same dealer that mad the repairs before they
are no longer in business. This dealer is an hour from my house
and they are aware that they are my closest option. What do
you think?

Thanks, Jason

Time expired is the crucial point here. The recall is probaly gone, your original shop that fixed it is gone, so no warranty followup can be done on that one. And, I would say your original manufacture warranty has expired too. I would say , you will have pay to get it fixed probaly, then I would be trading it off fast. Repeat problems like that are indicative of either poor engineering, poor belt design, or its a horrible task for a mechanic to get to, to do, so they half **** the job.... all good reasons to change cars. good luck
