Help Please

Hi Newbie here, I own a 1988 Ford Bronco II 2.9 liter, and the fuel line with connector melted because it was so close to the exhaust. THe problem is they dont make this part anymore at Ford. Does anyone have any suggestions? I need my car and I live in San Francisco. Has anyone else have that happen to them? I need to find replacement for it quick. Thanks for any info.

Check your local junkyards or find a parts truck in your local paper. If this doesn't work check back here.

If the line your talking about has the quick disconnects you can always cut the bad part of the line out then splice in a new gas hose. Make sure it's a gas hose. Double clamp on each end. There's 40 PSI of fuel pressure there so make sure you do it right.

No unfortunately its the plastic clip that is at a 90 degree angle that melted down becuase of its location. Cant find a adapter for it either. Its a plastic clip on both ends with fuelline about 4 ft 1/4 inch in diameter. Ive asked several ford and auto supply ppl and they said no suck thing as an adapter. The part they gave me is E6t2-9J33. any suggestion is greatly appreciated. thanks

Hi,
I breaked my gas line fitting on my 90 Bronco II. Was going to check float on the sending unit cause my gas gauge was not working. Anyway my local parts supply had a Dorman fuel repair
kit. Intructions said soak the gas line in boiling water for 10 seconds, bull. The gas line is made of Nylon and you need a
special tool to install the new fitings on. Read somewhere on the internet that repair line kits leak! What I did was find another
gas line fitting that I needed and carefully heated the Nylon
tubing with a heat gun and carefully cut off the melted gas line. Do not cut the fitting or it might leak. Then I went to my
local Ford dealer and they installed the fitting on for me.
I found a web site in CA that work guy on Mustangs and he has gas lines and fittings for sale but you need the special installation tool.
Also found a company in Canada that makes replacement fittings with different lengths of tubing but you need that special tool.
