those springs (X code springs) which are available throught the snow plow package do make your truck level from front to back. raises it about 2" or so. i am very happy with my delux aluminum rims, no complaints here, the steel rims will weigh more.
I got the heavy service springs on my '04 diesel (9000 # front end) and it still sat low in the front. I had to buy aftermarkets.
I kept my money and bought M/T wheels for a wider stance. If you want the narrow tires get the alum. wheels, not too many people make aftermarket wheels for these trucks (comparitively speaking) I guess it's a weight capacity thing.
I got the security group. I also work in construction and looking the doors with the key in the column and truck running is nice on cold monrings when the truck is parked on the side of the road.
yea, alfie623 is right, i have parked next to several super duties with diesels and both different owners came out at the same time that i was leaving my truck and both said they had the heavy service package and my truck still sat significantly higher then theirs. they couldnt understand....neither did i. but hey...... minz taller
The Diesel is significantly heavier than both the 5.4 and the 6.8. A 5.4 and even a V10 will sit nitoceably higher in the front than a diesel with the same springs because of this. Remember too that there are a few different front springs offered by Ford. The X springs that come with the snow plow package are the highest, and they go down form there. I think the heavy service springs are one step below the snow plow springs, but I could be wrong.
Only the X springs will give you 1.5 inch height difference when new. Thats on a truck with the 5.4 with the D I think a leveling kit is the way to go. With my plow up the truck goes down about 3/4 inch with the X's....The bottom bumper bolt with X's is 25.5" off the ground 24 without them..with the 5.4 that is
