Just wanted all to know I just got a call from the point man at FMC. He is tieing up one or two small details but bottom line is Ford is giving me a brand new truck this week in exchange for my two month old F350 that can't be repaired. I agreed to accept the new truck in stead of my money back because he's upgrading my next truck a little (2 alternators & long box) as a sort of agrivation compensation for this whole thing.
This has been a two month journey I don't want to have again but it looks as if it will work out just fine. When I drive away in my new truck I'll be happy.
sorry guy's - I may have spoken too soon on this. I got a call this afternoon from the "congenial gentleman" who is point man for FMC on this. He is changing his tune from what I originlly uderstood and now he's telling me that if I want to add another alternator to the next truck or if a similar truck to mine can be found and it had two alternators on it I have to pay more for the truck. While that may seem a no brainer - more equpment more money - I was trying to negotiate some kind of "adjustment" in the form of an agrivation factor on the replacement vehicle.
But at the moment it doesn't look like that's going to happen.
I have to go over to the dealer on Saturday to see what's out there. I may just get a case of the *** here at the end and tell him just return my money and I'll go buy a Toyota or Dodge. If he stonewalls on that I'll take it to arbitration with a lawyer in tow and let them pay him off too.
I'm still not angry but I have become very cautious what say to the company from here on out.
