I'm not getting fuel.
I cannot hear the pump running.
Replaced the fuel pump relay.
Testd all fusible links - good.
No power at inertia switch. Tried bypassing it anyway and no result.
I assume that no power at the inertia switch means no power to the pump either.
I do not have a schematic, so I don't know what else to test.
Another option might be the EEC relay -- it feeds power to the fuel pump relay.
I would strongly recommend you find a schematic. I don't know what others think, but I find it next to impossible to diagnose electrical problems without one. If you don't have a manual of your own, you can often find the information at a library. www.autozone.com has put the information from Chilton's on their website (look under repair info--vehicle repair guides). They aren't the best wiring diagrams, but it's a start.
Cool.
Advance can get me the EEC relay tomorrow morning.
I searhed some of the past posts on fuel.
An earlier post mentioned grounding the self test connector to run the fuel pump.
I did that and the fuel pump ran.
I was also able to start the truck with the terminal grounded.
I will be back on the road soon
Thanks!
that doesn't sound like a problem with the EEC relay. That sounds like a problem with the fuel pump control circuit. Maybe even the computer itself. I would suggest a proper wiring diagram and check the circuit though before replacing something as expensive as the computer.
I just got the truck this year, but this is the first time I have had to do any real repairs on it.
I'm taking a crash course on Broncos to try to get it going again!
That sounds simple enough but I had no idea how hard it is to find the right one around here.
Its a F2A, according to the label.

The only place that could get it was A&B Auto
I got a Ford rebuilt (with GTE ID number) multi-fit unit. Runs great.
I have another issue on another vehicle that I'm trying to decide if the problem is the computer or not. How did you determine that the computer was bad before replacing it? Or did you replace the computer in the hopes that it would fix the problem?
I was unable to get the self test running.
I had a new fuel relay and EEC relay.
I still had spark, so I thought the computer was good but did not know what else to do.
Sometimes the shot in the dark is right. I wish I could have diagnosed it instead of guessing (a $145 guess) but it runs now!
