I've been casually looking for a new truck to replace my '76 F250 supercab with 395 (.030-over 390), C6, and dana 70 LSD. I like the truck but the kids are growing and they could use a bit more room, so I'm considering a crew cab. Unfortunately, the Ford dealers in my area say the back seat in the new crew cab isn't available with headrests. What's the deal there? I've seen older-style CC's (1995 vintage?) with headrests on the back seats but not in the new superduty. The F150 supercrew isn't an option because I tow a 10000+ pound equipment trailer. Does anyone know what model years Ford put headrests and shoulder harnesses in their crew cab models?
Thanks
The model year 1999 and up Super Duty truck does not have headrests on the back seats. The 2 outboard seats do have shoulder harnesses though. I hate not having the headrests because the head will hit the rear window in an accident. It's been asked before if you can get aftermarket headrests, but I haven't heard of any being available for these trucks. Too bad.

Thanks Harald. After seeing so many pre-99 trucks with the headrests, I came to the same conclusion which you confirmed. I ended up purchasing a '96 PSD crew cab 4x4 and so far am real happy with it.
Anyone have the headrests that stick to the rear window? Where'd you buy em? Do they work ok? Do you recommend em?
my crew-cab is about to become our travel vehicle and i'm looking to make things more comfortable for my kids in the back seat. Seems all that my teenagers want to do is sleep

It is my intention to make a couple of head rests, out of sheet steel, foam rubber, and some tan leather, or fake leather, and affix them to points above and below the rear window. I am unsure of the logistics of this venture, but will keep you informed in whatever progress I make. The secondary advantage of such headrests is that it will effectively block the rear window - a thing I prefer not to have in a pickup.
