Explorer won't start after not driving 48 hours
Hey guys!
I'm a newbie here, so bear with me. I have a '97 Explorer AWD that has a problem starting after not driving it for 48 hours. The problem started about two years ago and I was told the power amp in the back was drawing it, so it was completely disconnected. That apparently didn't fix the problem, so after replacing the alternator and getting four new batteries I'm still having this problem. The problem is that the draw on the battery is so small, the mechanic's monitors can't pick it up. Has anyone had this or a similar problem? This has gotten beyond the ridiculous stage!
Thanks.

Get a new mechanic. A battery has about 70 amp hours in it. On a warm day you can start a vehicle with about 7 AH left. So in 48 hours the draw would have to be a little over an amp for it not to start. I'm guessing that that is not even a full 48 hours. That you can measure. I have equipment that draws about 1/4 amp all the time and I go for many days. Get a cheap meter and start pulling fuses.

my truck did that i replaced the battery did not fix ithought it was the amp in the back nope it was the ecc relay that was sticking closed allowing it to draw over 3/4 of an amp but when i pulled the fuse under the hood for the ecc the currnet droped to about 3/8 of a amp i would try pullint the ecc fuseunder the hod to see if that helps
