1998 F150 4X4 PCM Computer problems
Hello,
Can you please provide me with the correct part number for a Powertrain Control Module (PCM)/computer for my vehicle? Vehicle information is:
1998 F150 Styleside 4 X 4, VIN 1FTZX18W0WKC24237.
VIN Data plate says it is a 4.6L Romeo with a 4R70W transmission.
The Calibration sticker code on driver's doorframe is 8-48 D.
The PCM wiring harness part number is F85B12A581P260Fwhich seems to be for a 5.4L or is it for a 4.6L with coil on plug applications?
Engine: 4.6L with coil on plug. Valve cover sticker # is 7G842AA.
The computer in the vehicle now F85F-12A650-ZC has been replaced and appears to be the wrong one or has problems.
A Ford dealer told me that the correct computer should be a F85F12A650MB but I tried it and it doen't seem to be correct and generates error codes PO351, PO352, PO353, and PO354. I need to verify the correct computer part number. Is there a web site or parts cross reference from calibration sticker code to part number?
I would sincerely appreciate any assistance you could provide. This is driving me nuts. Thanks in advance. jbchief

Hey JB Not really sure if this helps but I looked into replacing my PCM also cuz I have multiple codes as you do. PO354, 355,356,358. Not really sure that this is the PCM problem since I don't have the code for PCM. There is a AICE chip involved with the shut down of multiple cyl. BUt that code is 1309 which I had but can't get to duplicate. This web site, if you can understand this, explains the functioning of OBDll in my truck and yours. It's right off the ford web page. When you replaced your PCM did you order one with the same calibration code as the original one? They should have asked you for the numbers off the original PCM. Good luck let me know how things come out.
