carb question

i just got an edelbrock performer 750 cfm carb, to replace this cartr i had on it before, and i was lookin around and apparently 750 is more then necessary for a 351, does it make more power because i have liek 100 extra cfm, because the valves can only take so much in on the stroke.

I have an 84 351w with an edelbrock 600 and it works just fine.it wont make more power just use a little more fuel,in fact too much carb can rob power.

well not necessarly just too much fuel can choke out an engine, depending on the cam you have,if you dmp too much fuel into the cylinders,it may not burn it all.I dont thing a 750 is to much just a little overkill.Shop around and you can find a 600 for a reasonable price, maybe even someone to swap ypu your 750 for a 600.
