92 351 Belt
Just read an article in GRM that stated that the air pump can be bypassed by using a shorter belt to run the motor and free up some ponies. Does anyone know the part number, brand, or other models' belt that will make this work.

I just put a new motor in my 90 F250 with the 5.8 and removed all the smog. The belt needed is 2 1/2 inches shorter. I don't have the number handy but just went into NAPA and they had one , no problem. I think the smog pump will need to be removed to let the belt make a straight shot to the alternator. Also removed the crossover pipe between the heads, The smog holes are threaded so a couple of 7/16 coarse threaded bolts make great plugs.
